I saw a link to a youtube video from this article. It confirmed that you can select your Master Chief Gender. So this is good news for Mrs. Chief, she can now look like a girl in Halo 3.
Actually it is both good and bad news as I am sure now she will really be getting hit on by all the prepubescent males in multiplayer.
